Wisconsin Democrats Welcome President Biden to Madison
MADISON, Wis. — Ahead of President Biden’s visit to Madison today to announce new steps to relieve the burden of student loan debt for millions more Americans, Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Ben Wikler released the following statement:
“During his time in office, President Biden has been laser-focused on building an economy that works for everyone by creating jobs and growing our economy from the middle out and bottom up. President Biden ran on the promise to reduce the burden of student loan debt because he knows a college education is one route to the middle class, not a burden weighing on working families. While Donald Trump praised his hand-picked justices for blocking President Biden’s original plan for student loan relief, President Biden remains committed to making a college education more affordable and providing student loan relief to millions of borrowers nationwide, just as he’s helping build paths to the middle-class that don’t require a college degree and ensuring that every worker’s right to unionize has the support of the federal government. The Democratic Party of Wisconsin is delighted to welcome President Biden back to Wisconsin as he continues his work to make sure everyone has a fair shot at the American dream.”
