MADISON, Wis. — Today, Wisconsinites gathered outside California bank owner Eric Hovde’s Senate campaign launch event to highlight how Hovde’s out of touch with Wisconsin values.

“In the very first moment of his campaign, Wisconsinites made clear they don’t want a California bank owner who is out-of-touch with Wisconsin values representing them. Maybe his megamansion in Laguna Beach would have been a better spot for his campaign launch,” said Democratic Party of Wisconsin Rapid Response Director Arik Wolk.

Eric Hovde owns a $2.8 billion California bank, which he admits is his ‘main business,’ in addition to a $7 million ocean view mansion in Laguna Beach, California. Hovde’s mansion is located in one of California’s most luxurious and exclusive private gated communities, complete with California’s only private beach, a private fire department, and private yacht parking dock. As the owner of a $2.8 billion California bank, Hovde is so involved in his California community that he’s been named one of Orange County’s most influential people three years in a row.
