Wisconsin Democrats on the Two-Year Anniversary of the Inflation Reduction Act
MADISON, Wis. — On the second anniversary of President Biden signing the Inflation Reduction Act into law, Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Ben Wikler released the following statement:
“Four years ago, President Biden and Vice President Harris ran on a platform to invest in the American middle class, take on the threat of climate change, and make large corporations pay their fair share. Since its passage two years ago, the Inflation Reduction Act has done just that, and so much more: helping sharply reduce inflation, making the largest investment in clean energy in US history, and cutting costs for working families. It’s a victory for all Wisconsinites, despite every single Wisconsin Republican—Ron Johnson, Bryan Steil, Mike Gallagher, Glenn Grothman, Tom Tiffany, and Scott Fitzgerald—voting against it. These Republicans voted against capping the out-of-pocket costs for Medicare beneficiaries at $2,000, capping Medicare beneficiaries’ insulin copays at $35 per month, and reducing the deficit by hundreds of billions of dollars without increasing taxes a single penny for families making under $400,000 a year. Investing in the American people has always been a good bet, and the vital investments made possible by the Biden-Harris Administration and the IRA are paying off in Wisconsin.”
