The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell: “So 400,000 Wisconsinites see Governor Waz on the local nightly news, and that’s still the biggest source of news for people in our state—local broadcast television. Wisconsin is a state where Biden won by 20,682, so you think about those 400,000 voters in western Wisconsin, that’s a big deal. But it goes beyond that, because Wisconsin and Minnesota, we’re both states that elected teachers as our governors. We’re both states that elected people who kind of embody decency and neighborliness. It’s not just that people know Governor Walz already. It’s that everyone in Wisconsin knows and loves someone like Governor Walz. He is someone who is familiar to us[…] Everyone has someone like that in their lives, and this is someone who can instantly convey to folks that they are seen and respected and honored, and that he and Vice President Harris are going to fight for them, for all of us—that means something in a state like Wisconsin.”
