Reminder: California Hovde Wants To Ban Abortion

MADISON, Wis. — As Wisconsinites continue to live under an archaic 1849 near-total ban on abortion nearly a year after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, here’s a reminder of potential GOP Senate candidate Eric Hovde’s (R–Laguna Beach) radical agenda to restrict reproductive freedoms nationwide and in Wisconsin:

• Hovde is “100% pro-life” and “oppose[d] legalized abortion”
• When he last ran for Senate, Hovde was endorsed by a far-right anti-abortion group pushing to make abortion “legally unacceptable” and said Hovde “indicated strong support for federal right-to-life issues, should he be elected”

“California Hovde should keep his ultra-MAGA agenda to roll back reproductive freedoms out of Wisconsin. His 100% pro-life plan to oppose legalized abortion is dangerous and is exactly the type of extremist politics that Wisconsinites will reject if Hovde moves back here to run for Senate,” said Democratic Party of Wisconsin Rapid Response Director Arik Wolk.
