Recap: Sen. Roys and Rep. McGuire Set the Stage for November: Eric Hovde Is An Out-of-Touch California Banker And ‘Walking Conflict of Interest’

Sen. Roys called out Hovde for being a ‘walking conflict of interest,’ running to pad his California bank’s bottom line and make himself richer.
“Eric Hovde is a walking conflict of interest. He won’t come clean to Wisconsin voters about his net worth, and he wants to continue owning his bank, even if he wins the election, and that raises serious questions about how he stands to profit from his role as a US Senator,” Senator Kelda Roys said.
Rep. McGuire criticized Hovde and his constant stream of insults towards working families in Wisconsin.
“We’ve seen an awful lot of troubling things from Eric Hovde throughout the course of this campaign. We’ve heard that he believes people in nursing homes shouldn’t vote. He thinks that people who struggle with their weight should face consequences. And he said that he understands Black culture because he’s been to Africa, in a particularly bizarre and troubling comment,” Representative Tip McGuire said.
Hovde is the owner of a $3.2 billion California bank, which he won’t give up ownership of if he wins. If elected, Eric Hovde could sway legislation to benefit himself and his bank, even being able to use taxpayer dollars to bail out his own bank, and he is refusing to answer questions about his conflicts of interest.
Meanwhile, on the campaign trail, Hovde has insulted working Wisconsinites from all walks of life, including nursing home residents, people struggling with their weight, farmers, and more.
