One Week to Primary Day and Eric Hovde Still Won’t Come Clean With Voters About His Conflicts of Interest

MADISON, Wis. — With the Wisconsin primary one week away, walking conflict of interest Eric Hovde is still hiding and dodging questions about his financial entanglements.

Hovde is refusing to give up ownership of his $3.2 billion California bank if elected, meaning Hovde could influence banking-related policy and could even use taxpayer dollars to bail out his own bank, all while still owning and profiting from his bank. Hovde continues to refuse to disclose his real net worth or exactly how much he profits from owning a $3.2 billion bank, and refuses to say which foreign banks and governments are depositing millions of dollars into his bank.

“As Eric Hovde faces Wisconsin voters, he needs to come clean about which foreign banks and governments he’s doing business with and how Wisconsin voters are supposed to trust him to work for them and not himself,” said Democratic Party of Wisconsin Rapid Response Director Arik Wolk.
