On the Anniversary of the Dobbs Decision Leak, A Reminder that Eric Hovde Supports Overturning Roe v. Wade

MADISON, Wis. — Two years ago today, the Supreme Court’s draft opinion in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization leaked, which overturned Roe v. Wade and created the horrific landscape that women across the country are facing today. Eric Hovde pushed to overturn Roe v. Wade then, and if elected would be a vote to further restrict reproductive freedom.

“It is thanks to politicians like Eric Hovde who support the overturn of Roe v. Wade that Wisconsinites lost their reproductive freedoms. There’s only one candidate in this race serious about restoring Roe and protecting women’s freedoms: Tammy Baldwin,” said Democratic Party of Wisconsin Rapid Response Director Arik Wolk.

• He said he is “totally opposed to abortion.” 

• He said he“opposed legalized abortion,” “from conception.”

• He was endorsed by a far-right anti-abortion group pushing to make abortion “legally unacceptable,” that said that Hovde “indicated strong support for federal right-to-life issues, should he be elected”

• He refused to say if he supports medication abortion.
