Watch: New WisDems Video: “Eric Hovde: Bad for Seniors, Bad for Wisconsin”
MADISON, Wis. — Today, the Democratic Party of Wisconsin is releasing a new digital video highlighting the troubling lawsuit Eric Hovde’s bank is facing for wrongful death and elder abuse in a nursing home the bank owns, which comes amid weeks of Hovde saying that senior citizens shouldn’t be allowed to vote if they are living in a nursing home because he believes they “only have five, six months life expectancy.” Hovde later doubled down on those claims, saying that he believes “a large percentage of those people [in nursing homes] are not in the mental capacity” to vote.
Full script of video:
Eric Hovde: “Look, I do lending into the nursing home community, or used to. The average life expectancy in a nursing home is 4 to 5 months.
Eric Hovde: “Almost nobody in a nursing home is in a point to vote.”
