HuffPost: “Adam Brody took a jab at Eric Hovde, who spends a not-insignificant amount of time in Orange County, California”

MADISON, Wis. — Today, HuffPost highlighted actor and former star of The O.C. Adam Brody calling out three-time winner of Orange County’s most influential, Eric Hovde, for being from Orange County, California.

“Hey, Wisconsinites, Adam Brody here,” Brody said in a TikTok video that had been viewed 1 million times as of Wednesday. “Please take it from me, nobody from the O.C. should hold office in Wisconsin. Reelect Tammy Baldwin.”

Eric Hovde is the owner of a $3.2 California bank and has been caught skipping out on Wisconsin campaign events to lounge on the private beach of his $7 million oceanview home in Laguna Beach, California.

HuffPost: Actor Adam Brody Takes A Jab At Wisconsin GOP Senate Candidate Eric Hovde

By: Paige Skinner

Actor Adam Brody on Tuesday took a jab at Eric Hovde, the Republican candidate for U.S. Senate in Wisconsin, who spends a not-insignificant amount of time in Orange County, California.

“Hey, Wisconsinites, Adam Brody here,” Brody said in a TikTok video that had been viewed 1 million times as of Wednesday. “Please take it from me, nobody from the O.C. should hold office in Wisconsin. Reelect Tammy Baldwin.”

Brody’s message is a nod to his time on Fox’s drama “The O.C,” which ran from 2003 to 2007. Hovde… spends much of his time in Orange County, according to the Los Angeles Times. Per The Associated Press, Hovde owns a $7 million home in Laguna Beach, California, and is the CEO of H Bancorp, a multi-bank holding company based in Irvine.

In February, Hovde posted a video on social media of himself shirtless and chest-deep in Madison’s frozen Lake Mendota.

“So the Dems and Senator Baldwin keep saying I’m not from Wisconsin, which is a complete joke,” Hovde says in the video.

Hovde is running against Sen. Tammy Baldwin (D), who in 2012 became the first openly LGBTQ+ person elected to the U.S. Senate. In her closing arguments during a debate with Hovde earlier this month, Baldwin said of her opponent: “He’s been named among the more influential residents of Orange County three years in a row. We have a Brown County, Wisconsin. We have a Green County, Wisconsin. We do not have an Orange County, Wisconsin.”
