Three Years Ago Today: California Bank Owner Eric Hovde Skipped Town to Ditch the Wisconsin Winter
MADISON, Wis. — Three years ago today, California bank owner Eric Hovde (R–Laguna Beach) told Isthmus Magazine that he was “getting ready to head out of the state here for the next couple months,” leaving the cold Wisconsin winter behind as he headed straight for his $7 million mansion in Laguna Beach.
While in California, Hovde attended several meetings and events for the California bank he owns, making the kind of important connections in his local Orange County, California community that helped earn him the title of Orange County’s Most Influential–three years in a row.
Now that Hovde wants to try to buy a Wisconsin Senate seat to enact his self-serving agenda, he’s back pretending to be a Wisconsinite. Let’s just hope he can actually tough the entire winter here, or if he’s planning to ditch the snow for his oceanside mansion and some California sun.
