Eric Hovde’s Own Words Show How Out of Touch He is with Wisconsin Values

MADISON, Wis. — Over the past few weeks, Hovde has reminded voters in his own words exactly what he thinks of them:  

• Daily Cardinal: Eric Hovde said young people and college students lack “work ethic”

• Rolling Stone: Eric Hovde said he opposed the commercial alcohol industry in a state where the alcohol industry supports 161,000 jobs.

• Washington Examiner: Wisconsin GOP Senate candidate suggested banning alcohol sales in state known for its booze: Report

• 19th News: Hovde blamed women and single mothers for society’s ills… “played into negative and racist stereotypes about Black women”.

• Daily Beast: Hovde said that being overweight is a choice and proposed that people with obesity should be forced to pay more for healthcare.

• Up North News: Hovde insulted farmers, saying they don’t work hard anymore and “largely drive around a tractor” 

It isn’t surprising that someone whose “main business” is owning a $3 billion California bank and lives in a  $7 million Laguna Beach mansion, is out of touch with Wisconsin values.
