ICYMI: Drama-Filled Day For Potential WI-SEN GOP Candidates
MADISON, Wis. — If you haven’t been following along, jabs have been flying between the megamillionaire GOP candidates considering running for Senate. DC Republicans made it clear that California bank owner Eric Hovde is their choice, suggesting to Scott Mayer that he sit it out. Unfortunately for Hovde and his backers, Scott Mayer doesn’t seem to be taking their advice. Here’s all the drama you might have missed today:
-
THIS MORNING: Mayer continued to tease a run talking about building a campaign team with notable MAGA consultants, and hitting NRSC-backed candidate California bank owner Eric Hovde for “liv[ing] in California.”
-
THIS AFTERNOON: Hovde’s Washington allies promised to spend “tens of millions of dollars” to “destroy” Scott Mayer if he runs for U.S. Senate.
-
JUST NOW: Scott Mayer’s pollster hit back. Calling Hovde and his DC allies “punks” and threatening to make sure they aren’t the ones to decide who will win the Mayer v. Hovde primary.
Stay tuned for more Wisconsin Republican Senate chaos…
