DEBATE RECAP: Do-Nothing Stacey Klein Doubled Down, Senator Brad Pfaff Highlighted Record of Action

MADISON, Wis. — In the debate between Sen. Brad Pfaff and Stacey Klein in Wisconsin’s 32nd Senate District, Stacey Klein told voters her plan to address issues in western Wisconsin: do nothing.

Last night, Klein told western Wisconsinites what they already know: she’ll be another partisan game–playing rubber stamp for the right–wing extremists in Madison. Meanwhile, Senator Pfaff showed his district who he is: a hardworking western Wisconsin fighter that knows his district and how to deliver for them in Madison.

Here’s a recap of Stacey Klein’s plan for Wisconsin:

  • STACEY KLEIN on polluted water: DO NOTHING

    • For over 450 days, the GOP-controlled Joint Finance Committee has refused to release millions in already–approved funding for PFAS cleanup.

    • Klein: “I know some have mentioned that the finance committee should release the money. We shouldn’t do that.”

    • Senator Pfaff called on the finance committee to release this critical funding. Senator Pfaff knows we can’t keep waiting for Republicans to stop playing games with clean water and it’s time to get PFAS cleanup funding into the hands of impacted communities like the Town of Campbell.
  • STACEY KLEIN on reproductive freedom: DO NOTHING

    • When Roe v. Wade was overturned, Wisconsin women had their rights stripped away under an 1849 abortion ban for over a year.

    • Klein: “I think it’s very important to put this out to the voters of the district.”

    • Senator Pfaff has been listening to women—that’s why he knows Wisconsinites have been loud and clear that they want Roe v. Wade codified into law. Western Wisconsinites know that while extremists like Klein are waiting for their chance to strip away the rights of Wisconsin women, Senator Pfaff is fighting for them in Madison.

  • STACEY KLEIN on expanding BadgerCare: DO NOTHING

    • Expanding Medicaid in Wisconsin would extend affordable health care to an estimated 89,700 Wisconsinites and deliver more than a billion dollars in new federal investment.

    • Klein: “I don’t support an all-out expansion”

    • Senator Pfaff will keep fighting to expand BadgerCare for Wisconsinites. He introduced legislation in the State Senate to cap the cost of insulin and create Wisconsin’s first-ever Office of Prescription Drug Affordability to lower prescription drug costs so everyone in Wisconsin can afford their medications.
