Nothing New: Another Republican With No Plan

Tim Michels Enters Race Wanting to “Fix” Madison, But Offering No Substantive Plans

MADISON, Wis. – Tim Michels has entered the dumpster fire Republican gubernatorial primary this week with an empty message of wanting to turn Madison [0:50] “upside down” and “fix” what’s broken [2:55].

However, Michels has yet to release a single plan on education, public safety, helping families with rising costs, or the economy. And frankly, no Republican running for governor has released serious plans of their vision for Wisconsin.

Rebecca Kleefisch wants to put 1,000 cops on the street, despite the fact that the state government does not hire local police, and it was her administration that cut funding for local police departments in the first place.

Kevin Nicholson is more interested in the Republican Party’s endorsement process and complaining about Republican elites than telling voters what he cares about.

Tim Ramthun’s entire campaign is about illegally decertifying the 2020 election.

The bottom line: this primary is all about division rather than bringing Wisconsinites together.

Gov. Evers will keep Wisconsin moving forward. Whether it’s raising Wisconsin schools to eighth in the nation, bringing Wisconsin to a historically low unemployment rate, or investing close to $100 million in public safety, including $50 million to community safety across the state, Gov. Evers is working for Wisconsinites.

“No Republican running for governor has a vision for Wisconsin,” said Democratic Party of WIsconsin Rapid Response Director Hannah Menchhoff. “We can’t be surprised that they have come up empty — they focus all of their energy on dividing Wisconsinites and trying to out-radical each other but have no interest in coming up with common-sense plans for the issues facing Wisconsinites.”
