Following is the statement of Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Mike Tate on the Assembly Democrats’ leadership race.
“Congratulations to our Democratic leader, Representative Peter Barca for being re-elected for the upcoming session.
“We look forward to Rep. Barca’s continued leadership in the Assembly and his efforts to grow the caucus in 2016. Wisconsin families all across our state deserve leadership that will fight to put their needs ahead of politics and special interests.
“Wisconsin faces tough challenges that are best met with the progressive ideals of Democratic leaders who put Wisconsin’s middle class first. I am confident that Rep. Barca will continue to meet that task.
“I’d like to also extend a thank you to Rep. Evan Goyke who will continue to be an important leader and strong progressive voice in the Democratic caucus.”
