More Questions for Scott Walker But Still No Answers

Jul 06, 2014

It’s been more than two weeks since documents were released that show prosecutors allege Walker was at the center of an expansive, nationwide “criminal scheme” and Scott Walker is still refusing to answer the most basic questions about his involvement in the alleged illegal campaign coordination.

Bill Lueders with the Wisconsin Center for Investigative Journalism had a simple question for Scott Walker — will he continue to coordinate with groups like Club for Growth in this November’s election?

It should be a yes or no question, but Lueders reports, “Walker campaign spokeswoman Alleigh Marre did not respond to emails asking this question. Neither did a spokesman for the Republican Party of Wisconsin. Representatives of Wisconsin Club for Growth also passed up chances to comment.”

“Scott Walker has no problem opening up to Charlie Sykes and Fox News to attack judicial and prosecutorial independence and slam a Republican prosecutor who alleged Walker was at the center of an expansive, nationwide ‘criminal scheme’,” Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Mike Tate said Monday. “But when it comes to answering real questions about his involvement in either the first or second criminal corruption probe into his campaign, Walker has nothing to say. If Walker can play the victim for his right-wing friends he can give answers to the people of Wisconsin who deserve to know whether their governor was involved in criminal activity.”
