ICYMI: Washington Post: "4 Pinocchios for a Truncated, 14-year-old Obama Clip"

Sep 19, 2012

The Washington Post reported today that a new ad attacking President Barack Obama uses footage that is 14-years-old, noting that “it is clear his remarks were taken completely out of context.”

The report, which highlights the highly-misleading, vastly-inaccurate ad from the Mitt Romney campaign that attempts to prove President Obama wants to “redistribute wealth,” goes on to say, “Obama is not talking about redistributing wealth at all — instead, he speaks about competition, the market place and innovation in an effort to improve government services.”

“Given the fact that video of Mitt Romney has recently surfaced showing the Republican candidate insulting seniors, college students and members of our armed services on tax issues, it’s astonishing that their campaign would release an ad that is so intentionally out-of-context and inaccurate,” said Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Mike Tate on Thursday. “Wisconsin voters, thankfully, will see through this and will see Romney as he truly is: a desperate candidate who will say whatever he needs to behind closed doors to right-wing extremist campaign donors while simultaneously lying and intentionally attempting to mislead the public.”
