BREAKING: "Transparent" Scott Walker Refusing to Disclose Criminal Defense Fund Donors

Apr 30, 2012

After claiming that he would be the most “transparent” governor in Wisconsin history, the ONLY governor in Wisconsin history with a criminal defense fund today was refusing to disclose the donors to that fund, which just received a $60,000 infusion from his campaign war chest as part of an ongoing criminal corruption probe.

According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Walker also made an additional $171,000 payment to politically-connected Michael Best & Friedrich, of which about $52,000 was said to be related to the ongoing “John Doe” criminal corruption probe which has netted two convictions after six aides were charged with 15 felonies.

“Scott Walker has refused to tell the people of Wisconsin even WHY he has a criminal defense fund, much less WHO is donating for his criminal defense,” Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Mike Tate said Tuesday. “What does Scott Walker have to hide in refusing to give the most basic details of his criminal defense fund, especially when there already have been convictions of top aides who committed crimes on his behalf? Is Scott Walker bound by any promises or any laws?”
