MILWAUKEE – The Administrative Committee of the Democratic Party of Wisconsin has endorsed U.S. Rep. Tammy Baldwin as the Party’s nominee for the U.S. Senate seat being vacated by Herb Kohl.
While rare, such endorsements occur only after due diligence by the Committee where it has become clear the recipient is the only bona fide Democrat in the race. The endorsement, made Jan. 15, makes it easier for County Parties to support Baldwin’s run.
“While the Republican Tea Party field runs further to the right and into the arms of their Wall Street masters, Tammy Baldwin has shown that she will fight these interests and protect our struggling middle class,” Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Mike Tate said Monday.
