MADISON — The following is a statement by Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Mike Tate on this morning’s announcement by former County Executive Kathleen Falk on her candidacy for governor.
“It’s exciting news that a strong and proven leader like Kathleen Falk is entering the inevitable race for governor. She’s shown how government can be run on a budget and for the people without unnecessary division and with respect for basic rights. Unlike Scott Walker, she would be a leader who will tell the truth to the people and who values all voices, not just those of ideological fellow travelers.
Should there be a primary, the Democratic Party of Wisconsin will not endorse a candidate. We are confident that the open primary process will yield the strongest possible candidate to take on Scott Walker.”
