Refuses to Return Sleazy $10K Campaign Cash
MADISON-In a fit of self-pity in a newspaper from a neighboring Congressional District, Tea Party Congressman Reid Ribble has refused to acknowledge the sleazy $10,000 in campaign cash he pocketed from an industry group, or his role in trying to manipulate federal safety regulations for the profit of his family business.
Instead, Ribble called the ethical mess an example of “real-world experience.”
Wisconsin Democrats called on Ribble to return the $10,000 he took during his campaign from the National Roofing Contractors Association, a trade group he directed in 2005-2006. Just as with his residency issues and voting, Congressman Ribble failed to disclose his behavior and be forthright with his constituents.
“Taking sleazy campaign cash from industry groups is not “real-world experience.” Using your position as a Congressman for the profit of your family business is not “real-world experience.” Violating the trust of the Congressional district in which you do not live and do not faithfully represent is not “real-world experience. Making government a plaything of corporate special interests is not real-world experience,” Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Mike Tate said Thursday.
“Reid Ribble should get “real,” explain his dirty ties to this industry group and return this sleazy campaign cash.”
