MADISON-With Republicans already bragging that their defense of Scott Walker from recall depends entirely on calling in favors delivered for corporations and raking in unlimited dirty money, the Democratic Party of Wisconsin has learned that a Koch Brothers front group was beginning the airing of nearly a quarter million dollars in television advertising Wednesday on behalf of Walker-with the promise of millions to come.
The “Americans “For” Prosperity” purchased the time in the Milwaukee, Green Bay, La Crosse and Wausau markets and would seek to advance the talking points that the Walker administration recently illegally promoted with a state Web site.
“The Koch Brothers have bought and paid for the Scott Walker administration and, now that the people of Wisconsin have seen what this means in practice, they are coming in to protect their investment,” Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Mike Tate said Wednesday. “Consider this the first installment of dirty money in what should be considered a rent-to-own government that Scott Walker has installed at the expense of Wisconsin’s working families.”
