WisDems: The Statement of Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Mike Tate on Sean Duffy’s Vote for Paul Ryan’s Devastating Budget

Apr 14, 2011

MADISON– Following is the statement of Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Mike Tate following Sean Duffy’s vote today in support of Paul Ryan’s “Path to Poverty” budget.

“Sean Duffy, who has taken thousands of dollars from Wall Street special interests, today stood with Paul Ryan in advancing the cause of those who least need protection at the expense of working families who are struggling to operate in an economy where only the richest seem to profit.

Duffy’s and Ryan’s nightmare vision of Wisconsin would see schools cut, Medicare ended, seniors put at risk, jobs shipped overseas, libraries closed and Wisconsin values put under undue stress.

Sean Duffy made the claim, insulting to the people he represents in Northern and Central Wisconsin, that he “struggles” on his $174,000 Congressional salary. With his vote today, he seeks to make things even worse for those not as fortunate as he.”
