Letters Allege Violation of FCC Regulations
MADISON-The Democratic Party of Wisconsin on Tuesday asked two Milwaukee television stations to remove the desperate television smear ads of Republican extremist Jeff Stone because they are in violation of FCC regulations.
For television ads to receive the lowest charge, such attack ads must depict a voice or visual likeness of Jeff Stone. These ads have neither. Without that depiction, the stations then become liable for the truth of the content of the sleazy ads, as well, which devolve into personal attacks and have nothing to do with policy.
Earlier Tuesday, an attorney for the Democratic Party of Wisconsin sent a letter to WTMJ and WDJT asking them to remove the ads.
“As the extremist Jeff Stone’s campaign becomes more desperate to deflect from his record of standing cheek-by-jowl with Scott Walker in the attack on Milwaukee County, Stone has chosen the low road of personal attack and smear,” Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Mike Tate said Tuesday.”
