Using Waukesha Money to Make War On Milwaukee County
MADISON – The day after raising champagne toasts to Scott Walker at a $1,000-per-plate fundraiser at an exclusive private club in Milwaukee, Jeff Stone on Friday is announcing he is transforming the Walker cash into a last-ditch advertising push.
Stone has said he wants to run for Scott Walker’s third term as Milwaukee County Executive, with a legacy that includes scandal, ballooning debt, lost jobs and higher property taxes.
“Yesterday, Jeff Stone raised champagne toasts to Scott Walker’s war on Milwaukee County and its working families,” Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Mike Tate said Friday. “Using the money of Waukesha Republicans to make war on Milwaukee County is a neat trick that only Jeff Stone or Scott Walker can pull off.”
In addition to Walker and Stone sharing a virtually identical voting record during their time together in the Assembly, Stone stood with Walker over his unfair budget repair bill that strips the rights of thousands of teachers, nurses, librarians and other workers. Stone has also announced his support for Scott Walker’s budget, which will gut millions from key services like transit and education.
Stone also offered a job to Walker crony Tim Russell, who media had his computer seized by the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s office while he was a County employee. Media reports revealed this week that he was searching through personal records of Milwaukee County Executive Candidate Chris Abele.
