Paul Ryan, Sean Duffy, Reid Ribble Already Break Promises

Jan 04, 2011

MADISON-As they enter office, Sean Duffy, Reid Ribble, Paul Ryan and the rest of Wisconsin’s Republican House delegation has already broken prominent campaign promises to reform Congress and cut spending.

The three showboats signed on to the “Pledge to America,” but already are backing away from $100 billion in cuts that would endanger law enforcement and education.

What’s more, the three promised to reform Congress, but are signing on to efforts to repeal health care reform without a single hearing. They also pledged to pay for whatever legislation passed, though their efforts to repeal health care reform will cost taxpayers $1 trillion over 20 years, by Congress’s own estimates.

“For Sean Duffy, Paul Ryan and Reid Ribble, talk is cheap,” Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Mike Tate said Wednesday. “They posed for holy pictures whenever they could, but now that the election is over, so are their promises.”
