MADISON- Proving once again that he is out of touch with the needs of his constituents, celebrity-seeking Representative Paul Ryan today voted against providing seniors a one-time payment of $250 to cover their Social Security cost of living increase. This vote against covering the Social Security cost of living increase that thousands of seniors rely on to make ends meet comes on the heels of his vote to give a budget-busting tax cut to millionaires and billionaires.
“Paul Ryan is refusing to help seniors, veterans, railroad retirees and people with disabilities in a time when retirement income is volatile, housing values are down and living expenses are rising,” Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Mike Tate said Wednesday. “Wisconsin seniors need Paul Ryan to stand up and fight for them in Washington D.C., not finance tax cuts for millionaires and billionaires on the backs of the most vulnerable.”
