Republican States Lawmaker Looks to Repeal Anti-Discrimination Law; No Plans on Job Creation
MADISON- Republican State Rep. Steve Nass has set his sights on repealing a new state law aimed at eliminating the use of offensive nicknames, logos or mascots in Wisconsin public schools.

Despite stating that job creation and the state’s budget deficit would be at the forefront of his agenda, Nass, the incoming chairman of the Assembly’s Colleges and Universities committee, has failed to offer any solutions for creating jobs or stimulating economic recovery.
“At a time when the economy is in shambles and Wisconsin families are struggling to make ends meet, it is shameful that Republicans like Steve Nass are focusing their time and energy on promoting a radical social agenda which includes repealing a law that eliminates the use of racial stereotypes in Wisconsin schools,” Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Mike Tate said Tuesday. “The people of Wisconsin were promised ideas that promote economic growth and family-sustaining jobs, not the re-legislation of a racist and discriminatory policy.”
