Madison — Today, the Senate confirmed President Obama’s nomination of Solicitor General Elena Kagan to the Supreme Court. Following the vote, Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Mike Tate issued the following statement:
“I commend President Obama, Russ Feingold and Herb Kohl on her swift confirmation and I look forward to the day, very soon, when Elena Kagan will be sworn in as our country’s fourth-ever female Supreme Court Justice. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated an unparalleled commitment to justice for all Americans in keeping with their rights under the Constitution of the United States and the laws of our country. I have full faith that she will uphold justice for all Wisconsinites and Americans from every state on the Supreme Court and I look forward to her service on that Court.”
