MADISON – The College Democrats of Wisconsin (CDW) issued the following statement today applauding recent congressional action to make college education more affordable. The College Cost Reduction & Access Act and Income-Based Repayment program, both sponsored by Congressional Democrats, took effect July 1.
“The College Democrats of Wisconsin applaud the recent steps taken by Congressional Democrats to make college more accessible and affordable to students nationwide.
The passage of the College Cost Reduction & Access Act ensures that all students will be able to pursue a college education without the burden of excessive debt. Additional reforms like the Income-Based Repayment program will now provide much-needed relief to Wisconsin families struggling to repay student loans following graduation. Interest rates on student loans will also be reduced, while increasing the funds offered through Pell Grants.
Wisconsin students, along with students across the country, greatly appreciate the investment our congressional leaders have made.”
