MADISON – Democratic Party of Wisconsin (DPW) Chair Mike Tate today issued the following statement in advance of gubernatorial wannabe Scott Walker’s fundraiser with noted congressional failure Newt Gingrich.
“Today, Scott Walker will trot out 90’s congressional has-been Newt Gingrich to publicly embrace the failed policies that brought on the national economic crisis. The fact that the two will share the stage is quite fitting.
Like Walker, history has exposed Newt Gingrich as a morally bankrupt hypocrite who consistently placed petty, partisan politics ahead of progress. Like Walker, Gingrich consistently shirked his elected responsibilities and mismanaged core government functions. And like Walker, Gingrich proudly abused public resources for personal gain throughout his entire tenure.
If there is one man in America with a comparable record of failure to Scott Walker’s, it’s Newt Gingrich.”
