Milwaukee — Today Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chairman Joe Wineke endorsed Senator Lena Taylor for Milwaukee County Executive.
“Senator Taylor has been a tireless advocate for Milwaukee County her entire life. She knows first hand the challenges facing Milwaukee and is ready to take them on,” Wineke said. “After fives years of Scott Walker, Milwaukee residents need new leadership and a new direction. I know that’s what Lena would bring to the office.”
Although running in a non-partisan race, Lena was endorsed for her commitment to the Democratic values of freedom, fairness, and family. Lena was recognized for her proven leadership and history of working hard to protect her constituent’s rights, opportunities, and way of life.
“We are honored to have received Mr. Wineke’s endorsement. Lena has spent her life fighting for essential Democratic values, including broad prosperity, effective government, and a better future. As County Executive, she will continue this work,” stated John Zapfel, campaign manager for Lena Taylor.
Taylor’s extensive list of endorsements includes Senators Herb Kohl and Russ Feingold, Citizen Action of Wisconsin, and AFSCME District Council 48, to name a few.
