Tim Michels Stands by Radical Beliefs, Threatens Violence Against Media

MADISON, Wis. — Following the Journal Sentinel’s report of donations from Tim Michels’ family foundation to extreme anti-LGBTQ and anti-abortion groups, the candidate for governor has taken a cue from the disgraced former President by threatening violence against the media instead of explaining his radical beliefs.

On the Vicki McKenna Show yesterday, Michels says:

“I believe people should just, just be ready to get out on the streets with pitchforks and torches with how low the liberal media has become. […] People need to decide, you know, am I going to put up with this? Am I going to tolerate this, you know, taking somebody that gives money to churches or cancer research and that use that as a hit piece in the media? I’m appalled. It’s disgusting.”

Wisconsinites want a governor who embraces unity, respect, and common-sense leadership.  Governor Evers is laser focused on doing the right thing by lowering costs for Wisconsinites and funding education. Michels will say or do anything to divide our communities, even embracing this type of destructive and violent politics.

“Will Tim Michels threaten violence every time he is asked to explain his support for radical and divisive policies? Violent rhetoric has no place in Wisconsin and it’s shameful that a candidate for governor is sinking this low,” said Democratic Party of Wisconsin Rapid Response Director Hannah Menchhoff. “Michels’ threats of violence are dangerous and another extreme attempt to pander to Donald Trump and the MAGA base.”
