ICYMI: Gov. Evers, DNC Chair Jaime Harrison Celebrate President Biden’s Infrastructure Law Delivering for Wisconsin

MADISON, Wis. – Yesterday, Democratic National Committee Chair Jaime Harrison spoke with ABC Madison’s A.J. Bayatpour about how President Biden’s infrastructure law will rebuild Wisconsin’s roads and bridges – all while creating good-paying jobs and spurring economic growth across the state.

Chair Harrison’s interview followed President Biden’s trip to Superior where elected officials and labor leaders from Minnesota and Wisconsin touted how President Biden’s infrastructure law will benefit communities in both states. Governor Tony Evers, Wisconsin Senator Tammy Baldwin, and other Democratic officials joined President Biden at the event.

Governor Tony Evers noted the importance of funding infrastructure projects in Superior specifically, as the 61-year-old Blatnik Bridge nears the end of its useful life. “This is a once-in-a-generation investment, folks, and we are hoping to put that investment to good use with projects like reconstructing the Blatnik Bridge,” said Gov. Evers.

State Senate Democratic Leader Janet Bewley, who represents a neighboring community of Superior, also highlighted how this federal investment will revitalize local economies, saying, “These improvements are going to make people’s everyday lives better. And all of these create jobs — and there are people right now working on these jobs.”
