While Gov. Evers Does the Right Thing, Michels Still Missing Rising Costs Plan

MADISON, Wis. – While Gov. Evers offers common sense solutions, Tim Michels still has no plan to address rising costs for Wisconsinites. Despite being a top issue for Wisconsin voters, Michels’ campaign “blueprint” still lacks any serious ideas to help Wisconsin families.

While Michels sticks to his radical agenda, Gov. Evers has taken action. Gov. Evers has proposed a comprehensive plan and pushed for immediate action that will help to lower costs and help Wisconsinites. He has called for a temporary suspension of the state gas tax, a repeal of the state’s mandatory markup on gas, and an additional 10% tax cut for Wisconsin families

Meanwhile, Tim Michels refuses to say where he stands and hasn’t commented on whether he will join Gov. Evers’ call to pass a temporary suspension of the state’s gas tax.

No matter what he says, Tim Michels has made it clear that he is more interested in divisive issues like enabling parents to sue schools, banning abortions in cases of rape and incest, and refusing to support common sense gun safety legislation.

“Tim Michels’ radical agenda will leave Wisconsin families behind,” said Democratic Party of Wisconsin Rapid Response Director Hannah Menchhoff. “Wisconsinites want a common sense leader like Governor Evers who has a proven record of lowering income taxes and bringing people together to get things done. Michels has been too busy appealing to the most extreme parts of his party to tell Wisconsinites where he stands. Michels is radical and wrong for Wisconsin.”
