A Day After the Supreme Court Decision, Sen. Johnson Votes Against Women's Health

Jun 28, 2016

Senator Johnson is at it again. One day after the Supreme Court’s decision protecting women’s reproductive rights, Senator Johnson voted for a bill to strip restrict funding for Planned Parenthood. Johnson and other Washington Republicans have taken a bill that should be about combating the Zika virus and turned it into a wishlist of extreme partisan cuts that target women, veterans, and those most in need of health care.

In addition to cutting funding for women’s health care, the bill also cut funding for the VA designed to build and improve hospitals for veterans. To add insult to injury, the bill would allow VA hospitals to display the confederate flag. It’s clear that Sen. Johnson is more interested in his extreme conservative agenda than combating Zika.
