Job Title: Finance Director
Reports to: Executive Director
Salary: $95,000-125,000/annually, generous benefits package
Location: Madison, WI (Please note: Employment with the Democratic Party of Wisconsin requires residence or willingness to relocate to the state of Wisconsin.)

The Opportunity: As the Finance Director you will have the opportunity to lead and execute the fundraising efforts for the Democratic Party of Wisconsin. This position will work closely with the Chair and Executive Director, and serve as a member of the senior leadership team. The Finance Director is responsible for building relationships with major donors and surrogates, as well as overseeing the Finance Committee. Along with the finance team, this position will drive fundraising goals and execute grassroots events.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage the Finance Department, including strategic planning, budgeting, hiring, and project management.
- Own the design and implementation of a comprehensive finance plan, working in close partnership with the Chair, ED, Deputy ED, and Digital Director as your primary consultants.
- Coordinate with the Operations team to monitor compliance and appropriately solicit, track, and report campaign finance contributions and expenditures.
- Oversee in state and national fundraising operation, including travel, donor targeting, and events
- Manage the direct mail program, and act as advisor and partner to the Senior Digital Director in executing the digital fundraising operations.
- Manage all finance consultants (PAC, Labor, Major Donor, etc).
- Ensure that the fundraising work of DPW embodies the values of the party and is grounded in diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Manage direct reports in all aspects of their work and support their success in the role by conducting relevant coaching conversations, providing and receiving feedback, and creating an inclusive and engaging team culture. More specific tasks could include but are not limited to:
- Managing and reviewing time off requests
- Hiring new team members
- Having constructive conversations with team members on performance
- Building rapport and trust within your team
- Leading projects and delegating tasks
- On year requirements include working outside of normal work hours; including canvassing and other election-preparation as necessary.

- Prior Extensive Fundraising Experience – Demonstrably excellent track record of crafting and executing ambitious campaign finance plans.
Campaign Finance Knowledge – Strong understanding of campaign finance laws and regulations.
Qualifications (Preferred):
- Election cycle experience in a senior finance role.
- Connections with Wisconsin donor base.
